Microsoft started this year from the fact that they filed an opposition with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office 'in an attempt to deny Apple the trademark to the term 'App Store' because they claimed that it was too generic'. At this time, Apple is the one doing the fighting. In accordance with Bloomberg, Apple filed suit vs. Amazon on March 18th, accusing them of 'trademark infringement unfair competition because of their use of the term 'Appstore' in connection with their Android app market' which was going to make its debut in the nearest future. The company asks the court to prevent Amazon from using the mentioned above term, as due to their words it could 'confuse and mislead customers.' That's quite an interesting situation, so be sure that we'll keep an eye on it and we will keep you updated with more details as they're made available, so stay tuned!
