AT&T Updates prepaid Plans
By Jerry Carrion

Now I understand why people prefer to tie themselves to a certain contract instead of getting involved in prepaid plans. Well, I know that prepaid plans have never been cheap but what I see in the updated GoPhone from AT&T is insane. Staring April, 22 people will have to pay $25 for 1 GB, $15 for 200 MB and $5 for 50 MB. With my internet usage I will become a bankrupt in no time. Anyway, also, GoPhone customers who subscribe to either the $50 Unlimited Talk & Text nationwide plan or the $25 Unlimited Text with 250 minutes nationwide plan are eligible to add the services which are priced to offer twice as much data as earlier rates. Of course, if you have no choice, prepaid plans are the only options but in most cases it is a lot better to sign-up for a 2-year contract and get the latest smart-phone for free or with a reasonable price tag than to spend a fortune on the high-end handset and after that get it on prepaid conditions.
