Ice Cream Sandwich Wins Parson's School of Design's User Experience Award
By Jerry Carrion

The acquisition of Palm WebOS UI Guru Matias Duartre has really seemed to pay off in the last year. Many diehard fans have even switched from WebOS to Android due to Duarte’s major influence in the release of Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich. Currently Duarte stands as the Director of User Experience at Android and sits amongst other executives such as Andy Rubin, whom he had also worked with during his time at Danger. It seems this last year of work has really paid off for Duarte and team as Android Ice Cream Sandwich has won the Gold Prize for best platform experience at Parson's School of Design's annual user experience awards show. While many users wait and depend on their device manufacturer to spruce up their phone’s aesthetics, we highly applaud the upgrades to stock Android. As Duarte’s first combined work with Google, it implements many of the features Android seemed to be missing. We’re excited to see what’s in store next!
