Windows Phone 7 to come in October
By Austin Woodard

Recently at the Cannes Lions advertising conference Microsoft spoke on the new Windows Phone 7. 'Kostas has brought with him Windows Phone 7, which we launch this October.' as stated by Mitch Mallios, VP of Marketing for Microsoft, while introducing Kostas Mallios, GM of Live Labs. Microsoft brought the phone to the advertising convention to show off the advertising capabilities of the new device and to give it a boost in publicity. Originally the line of smart phones were set to release holiday 2010. This is exciting knowing they will be here sooner. It is doubtful that Microsoft will confirm this release date. During the convention they gave a demo of the advertising capabilities. The operating system has three main points that were covered at Cannes Lions conference. Microsoft covered: Applications as ads, the ability to pin these to the start screen, and 'toast' where a application developer can send notifications to the users. Some other abilities will be that the developer will be able to dead link to the app store allowing for a easy install process. Source
